Forest Girl by Dillerkind Forest Girl by Dillerkind
This took way too long... Made the line-art months ago, then put it on hold and finally took it out to work on it again about two weeks ago. Felt like doing a "real" background this time ^^

Done in Inkscape; using the line tool + gradients.

Shirts/prints/Apple phone covers available in my RB shop

Very nice! Really cute girl in a nice scene. :)

I would've used slightly more blue in the far background so as to seperate it better from the foreground and create a stronger illusion of perspective.

You've done a really good job on this! :D

The idea was to make it look like late afternoon or early evening with the sun slowly going down behind the hills. Hence that color... but this probably sounds like some weak excuse... XD Anyway, thanks for your comment. I'm glad you like the pic ^^

Haha! No, I get what you mean. It's certainly not easy. ;)

You're doing a good job, mate! I wish I was still as productive! Keep it up! :D

Productive? Yeah, I wish I was still productive, too. So far, this year has been my all-time-low in terms of creative output (well, at least in quantity). Can only hope it'll get better when the summer is over and there's fewer distractions from the sunny weather and such :D

Very Impressive and beautiful. You seem to do such amazing things with what I thought was not possible with Inkscape, really strives me to work harder at using it myself. ^_^

Yeah, you do that! Inkscape might be a bit rough around the edges.. but it's also quite powerful and will hopefully continue to grow and evolve in the years to come. Thanks for your kind words. I appreciate them : )

I'm really slow.. Thus pretty much everything I do takes a lot of time. I'm used to this. But with this pic things were different. Took me 3-4 attempts before I finally found the patience to pull it through to the end. But it's done now and the world is, once again, a better place xD

XD yes it sure is, man I almost never have the patience or courage to redo things if they turn out bad, and when I do I end up just redrawing the whole damn picture from scratch >_<

... which is probably the best you can do. Much better to redo the whole thing and avoid making the same mistakes again, instead of just trying to iron out the flaws in an already finished piece (unless it's something really minor).
